Hackers have published stolen data belonging to the City of Berlin on the darknet after a bitcoin ransom deadline passed without payment.

Berlin's state government declined to pay a 30 Bitcoin ransom demand, roughly €2 million, after a cyberattack on its network in mid-August. The hackers say they have since published around 1.4 million files.

Hacking group Rhysida says it stole several terabytes of data from the city of Berlin and is demanding 30 bitcoin, worth roughly 2 million euros, or it will auction the material on the dark web.
